Get a Brazilian job for your classic- in Brazil it is law (Resolution 245) that ALL vehicles are fitted with a tracker. But the Brazilians are objecting because there are annual fees to the monitoring companies and fears about confidentiality on the use of the minute by minute tracking data.
SOLUTION - A self-monitoring tracker
1. Much cheaper than monitored tracker to buy and an easy DIY fit
2. Can be moved from vehicle to vehicle.
3. No annual fees (although text message tariffs may apply)
4. Data is fully confidential and ONLY goes to you and anyone you authorise.
5. Also includes component marking.

Owner, Delwyn Mallett has owned the unique Reutter-bodied 1952 coupe for the past 40 years.

It is chassis number 11176 – and has many unique features, including a fuel filler through the luggage lid, engine vent and Le Mans-style wheel spats. It's a left-hooker, so fears are it was stolen to order and is already heading across Europe.

1963 FB estate
Poster: motormonk Thu Jan 26, 2012 1:14 pm

I have had my 1963 Vauxhall victor FB estate taken without my permission from my fathers garage. I am the legal owner of the car but my father is the registered keeper. It has been reregistered to the person who took it and it is now somewhere in Surrey. The police have refused to investigate and my solicitor cant get any information from the DVLA. I spent two years restoring this car and it is in A1 condition. The cars registration is
CME 261A. it is limestone white with a cavern green interior. It has two Wipac spotlights on the front. Any help tracing it will be much appreciated.

28-01-2012 Just found out my mother got a duplicate v5 from DVLA and sold the car.She signed the v5 in her name and told DVLA my father had died,he is still very much alive. I have a signed statement from him that he gave me the car 26 years ago to restore and keep. My mother has signed a statement saying she sold the car without my consent and after being told by her solicitor that if she wanted the car moved from the garage at my fathers house she must give me 28 days notice. She ignored this advice. I have not spoken to her for twelve years and she sold it because she dosnt like me.The police say it is a matrimonial issue and told me to stop wasting their time.Surely crimes have been commited and wondered if anybody who has experience of this can advise me.My solicitor has told me it could cost a lot of money to recover my car.

Stolen - Ford Capri 2.8i C849JHJ, from Essex 21-22 January
Poster: blammy1 Sun Jan 22, 2012 11:28 pm

My beloved 1983 Ford Capri 2.8i (reg C849 JHJ) has gone missing whilst parked at my mechanics in Rettendon (near Chelmsford) Essex CM3 8HB on the weekend on 21-22 January.

The vehicle is Nimbus Grey with the factory red "injection" pinstripes and decals, running on 15 inch 'Brooklands' alloys. It is fitted with a 2.9L 24-valve Cosworth BOA engine running twin 'Scorpion' stainless exhausts and custom tubular manifolds, so it has a very distinctive engine note.

It has the half-leather Recaro grey interor, including head restraints on the rear seats, white dials for the instruments and Kenwood CD player. It has extension suspension & braking mods, including:
- adjustable coil-overs & TCAs, roller strut mounts, anti-dive kit, polybushes etc
- big discs up front with 4-pot Wilwood calipers, Sierra Cosworth discs at back
- MT75 gearbox and original LSD

It also has distictive mark of LHS rear wing mirror is chrome, while RHS wing mirror is original grey.

Any information greatly appreciated & treated with confidence. This incident has been reported to the Essex police.
