I spent two years restoring this car and it is in A1 condition. The cars registration is

Stolen - Ford Capri 2.8i C849JHJ, from Essex 21-22 January
Poster: blammy1 Sun Jan 22, 2012 11:28 pm

My beloved 1983 Ford Capri 2.8i (reg C849 JHJ) has gone missing whilst parked at my mechanics in Rettendon (near Chelmsford) Essex CM3 8HB on the weekend on 21-22 January.

The vehicle is Nimbus Grey with the factory red "injection" pinstripes and decals, running on 15 inch 'Brooklands' alloys. It is fitted with a 2.9L 24-valve Cosworth BOA engine running twin 'Scorpion' stainless exhausts and custom tubular manifolds, so it has a very distinctive engine note.

It has the half-leather Recaro grey interor, including head restraints on the rear seats, white dials for the instruments and Kenwood CD player. It has extension suspension & braking mods, including:
- adjustable coil-overs & TCAs, roller strut mounts, anti-dive kit, polybushes etc
- big discs up front with 4-pot Wilwood calipers, Sierra Cosworth discs at back
- MT75 gearbox and original LSD

It also has distictive mark of LHS rear wing mirror is chrome, while RHS wing mirror is original grey.

Any information greatly appreciated & treated with confidence. This incident has been reported to the Essex police.

STOLEN - Ford Escort RS Turbo - C516 JHE

Over the Christmas & New Year holiday, my cherished 1985 FORD ESCORT RS TURBO CUSTOM C 516 JHE, which I have owned from new, was stolen from a locked garage in St Anthony Rd/Bole Hill Lane, SHEFFIELD 10. South Yorks. The car featured in the July/August issue of 'Rallye News' 2011 under the title of '25 YEARS OF LIFE WITH THE DASHING WHITE CHARGER' Thieves demolished the rear brick wall of the garage and got through all the security to get this car, so they appear to have been determined and professional.

I suspect the car has been stolen 'to order' and will end up being cloned by someone who has registration documents for a similar car which has already been scrapped...................or that it will end up in the parts bin on E-bay(!).

Like most members, I could identify this car easily, even without its registration plates.

PLEASE, if you see or hear anything about the car, or spot it (or bits you think might be from it) anywhere on your cyber-travels or elsewhere, do let me know. ALSO - If you belong to other forums and can post this message on them for me, then I'd be most grateful.

I'm prepared to offer a reward for information which leads to its safe recovery/conviction of the thieves.

Many thanks!

New Crime Wave
Poster: Jimbob-Squarepants Mon Jan 09, 2012 7:13 pm

It appears that we've gone back in time by 20 odd years, because the latest craze among vehicle theifs in SE London is to break into older cars and steal their original standard-fit stereo units. Here's a copy of an e-mail that was sent to a friend today:

This may explain why my XR3 was violated the other night.

Be on your guard folks.

Stolen - 1985 Toyota Tercel 4x4 - Birmingham
Poster: snorky Tue Dec 06, 2011 10:53 am

Morning all
Yesterday around midday my red Turtle was stolen from the Digbeth area of Birmingham.
My Grandfather bought it new in '85 so it has massive sentimental value plus is 1 of just 39 still on the DVLA as being on the road.
If anyone sees or hears anything please let me know or call the feds.
It's probably been trashed or weighed in by now but fingers crossed she turns up safe...
Cheers
Nick

Yellow Morris Van SEL 896H - RECOVERED
Poster: Jimbob-Squarepants Sun Nov 27, 2011 12:04 pm

Quote:
Absolutely gutted that I'm having too write this but our dearly beloved Morris Minor van has been stolen.

IT was taken between 21:00 on 25/11/11 and 21:00 on the 26/11/11 near Brockenhust railway station.

Its pretty distinctive as it has been brush painted highway yellow. It has side windows in the raised sections of the side bodywork. the interior colour of the rear load doors and the front doors is a light blue. and the dashboard and windscreen surround is painted mat black. There is a vinyl sticker of a star on the dashboard along with the tax disk holder ( it is an ex GPO van) The car has no sill covers. the inside load space has one side painted yellow and the other side red. the are numerous runs on the inside of this from where it has been painted. It has fibre glass front wings ( the drivers side door catches on the wing when you open it ) and a Marina disk brake conversion.

I've probably gone into far too much detail but should anyone be breaking a van for spares you'd know if it was this one or not.

I just want our Horris home save, she's been in the family 30 years.
Will

PLEASE HELP FIND OUR STOLEN MINI
Poster: princes_pie_face Fri Oct 21, 2011 10:18 am

Image

Please please keep your eyes peeled for an automatic Moonraker Blue Mini Mayfair (1986). It was stolen sometime between the evening of Sunday 16th and Tuesday 18th October from Allcroft Road in Reading. The bodywork is in good condition and the mileage is low for a car of that age. The car has a sony hifi system fitted but the detachable front of the hifi system was not in the car at the time of the theft. As you can see from the picture the car had white bonet stripes, alloy wheels and extra headlamps fitted but these may well have been removed.

This car has HUGE sentimental value and we are desperate to find it! Thanks for reading.
