Hi Nashy,
I forgot to reply to this

Since I read your post, I've created a Stolen Classics Facebook group which now has 116 members

I'm also cross posting the vehicles from here to there.
Thanks for posting links to the site
BTW, regarding the Triumph...
As far as I know no-one has been caught, but they could've been... five of them. When I went over to look after the car, I was told it was a non runner, so I decided to wait with it untill either my mate (owner) or some chaps from a local firm could help me tow it.
The Police had told me if anything was to happen I should call them straight away. Anyway, two hours into my babysitting shift, three blokes walked by the front of my car, all having a good look at me. They then went over to the Triumph and one of them had the door open whilst half inside doing something.
I got straight onto the phone to the Police who told me to sit tight and under no circumstances was I to go over and confront them. While on the phone, the 3 blokes just disappeared. A few minutes later, 2 more blokes walked past my car, again having a good look, then walked over to the Triumph and then... just disappeared.
I managed to get hold of my mate and told him what happened, and he managed to get a couple of people that he knows to come over and help me tow it.
While we were pushing the car out of the space, I noticed something move in some bushes... it was the five geezers. They were obviously sitting there waiting for me to disappear before they stole the car... again. They decided to get up and mooch off when we were hooking up the tow rope.
Anyway, did the Police turn up? Erm, no, and the car wasn't even on the Police database as stolen. The reason for this would be the Policeman my mate spoke to when he reported the car stolen. The Policeman tried telling him that he had got the numberplate round the wrong way, and he didn't even know what the car was
So the upshot is, there was a Triumph driving around the area for at least two days prior to it being found, it was found parked up on an industrial estate with only one way in and out and protected by CCTV, and wasn't stopped by Police because it wasn't on the stolen cars database... oh and when people like you and me try to do their job for them, they can't even turn up on time to nick 5 collars
